Rusalka never realizes that, in truth, Reinhard intended to absorb his undead Legion, in a hellish state of constant destruction and revival, along with all others that pledge their service to or are killed by the LDO. In exchange for her service, Reinhard promised to grant Rusalka true immortality- the sorcery she used to extend her life has a limit of a few centuries. As for World War II, Rusalka worked for the Deutsches Ahnenerbe, Nazi Germany's main institute of archaeological and occult research before meeting Nazi occultist and Gestapo head Reinhard Heydrich, she joined his occultist organization, the Longinus Dreizen Orden, as number 8 in the organization. Anna artificially extended her life with magic, living for centuries, torturing and killing all the while, taking up the name 'Rusalka' after the Slavic water nymphs which lured men to their deaths. Using her new powers, Anna escaped prison and took revenge on those who tortured and imprisoned her.
